Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actor, dancer and performer since the beginning of the 1990s. Her initial performances on Broadway include the productions Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. In You Can't Take It With You She was the recipient of the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in the Play. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford spent her career collaborating with acclaimed actors and directors across the stage, film and TV and she will continue that work with several upcoming projects. Ashford is scheduled to be in the role of Kumail Nanjiani, in Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It will premiere on 22nd November. Ashford is currently working for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust starring opposite Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. It will also be available as an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford returns to Broadway and play alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will direct the production. Ashford was last seen in the role of Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the National Crisis, which saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as the central figure in the country's First Impeachment Proceedings over a Century. Ashford was a part of two seasons of popular CBS comedy B Positive. She also appeared in the cult series, created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Not a stranger to Broadway Ashford has won both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her role as Essie. Some other Broadway roles for Ashford are Sunday in the Park, as George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren In Kinky Boots. For this role, she earned the Tony Award nomination. Ashford is an Denver resident who splits her time in Los Angeles.
